Kevin Martin joining the Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves and free-agent shooting guard Kevin Martin have agreed on a four-year deal, for around $30 million. Martin, who has played as a starter for most of his career, spent his last season coming off the bench for the Oklahoma City Thunder, as he was part of the famous trade that sent All-Star James Harden to the Houston Rockets. While in OKC, Martin averaged around 14.0 points and shot 42 percent from beyond the arc. With the Timberwolves being pretty thin at both the small forward and shooting guard positions, Martin should be able to obtain the starting role, which means the Wolves could potentially have a starting lineup consisting of: Ricky Rubio, Kevin Martin, Chase Budinger, Kevin Love, and Nikola Pekovic. They also added some nice talent in this years draft, getting Shabazz Muhammad, Gorgui Dieng, Bojan Dubljevic, and Lorenzo Brown. This very well could be the year Minnesota finally breaks their playoff draught of seven consecutive seasons without post-season play.
